Need advice in sbumitting Documents for General Visitor Visa

Post by vikrant123 » Fri May 17, 2013 12:41 pm

Hi, I am planning to apply for General Visit Visa to visit my maternal uncle in UK by the end of May 2013. He is British Citizen and he has been suffering from cancer for past 1 year and hasn't been keeping well for past several months, we have strong relationship, he consider me like his young son and he wants to see me. My only intention to visit UK is to meet him and spend some time with him.

Since I have been to UK earlier as well on WHM (Working Holiday Maker) Visa back in May 2009- Jan 2011 and I came back to India 4 months earlier before the expiration of my visa. I don’t have any intention to explore UK anymore, except just to spend some time with him.

Now, when I am applying for Visitor Visa, I have some doubts in submitting my documents. I am only planning to visit him for 4 weeks. I am employed here in delhi with Dell.

Below mentioned Documents I am submitting with my application:
Documents from my side:
1. 6 months’ Salary Slips
2. Employment certificate from Dell stating my duration of employment
3. Salary Certificate from Dell stating my salary and annual package
4. NOC Letter or Reference Letter from Dell, stating the period of my leaves and date of my joining upon arrival in India
5. 6 Months Bank Statements and a covering letter from Bank stating the account balance
6. Form 16, for the tax I paid in 2012 and 2013

Documents from my Uncle in UK :
1. Copy of Passport
2. Sponsorship Letter
3. Accommodation Letter
4. 6 Months Bank Statements (Which includes a covering letter from bank stating the account balance since Bank’s in UK don’t stamp the bank statements anymore)
5. 6 Months’ Salary Slips
6. Letter from GP or Doctor stating his condition and health status
7. Reference Letter to British High Commission, New Delhi. stating about the invitation to UK

Doubts and Queries:
1. Showing the considerable balance in my salaried account, to proof that I would be able to support my onward and return journey. I get salary credited to my account every month, however, I don’t keep the money in my account, which can reflect as savings. I have another source of saving the money, which I cant show on papers. For instance, I am investing in gold, local comities and giving money on interest. But Finding it hard to show on papers.
2. What should be the amount should I show in my accounts and how should I show the origins of amount deposited in my account, although its my own savings but don’t have documents to show or proof.
3. Along with the sponsorship from UK, I am also showing amount of almost 4 lacs in my account, out of which I have taken loan of 1.75 Lacs from Bank against my Gold, for which I have documents to show and I have almost 2 lacs of amount with me but I am confused, if I would deposit that amount, how would I show the origin of amount deposited, even though its my own savings?
4. I have already deposited Rs 1.75 lacs which I received against Gold Loan and another Rs 50,000 in my account this week and I am planning to deposit another 1.5 Lacs next week, would there be any issues submitting large amount within 2 weeks before applying for Visitor Visa? ECO can raise an issue that I have submitted the large amount so recently in 2 weeks before applying for visa, wherein earlier I had no money in my account.
5. Since I am planning to visit my uncle on medical ground, he isn’t well and fighting with cancer, what should be the body of content in **Purpose of Visit** letter to BHC (British High Commission) along with my visa application and what should my uncle writes to BHC on letter of invitation.
I am not showing any flatulent documents, all the documents are true along with my savings as well but don’t have it on papers.

I am really attached to my uncle and really like to visit him for 4 weeks only. Your help would be really helpful. I would be great full to all of you.

Regards,
Vikrant Arya

It seems you are providing financial information from your uncle when you don't actually need his financial sponsorship. You have your own means so why are you suggesting that you need to rely on his benevolence? It will also indicate your own independence and strong ties to India if you don't include this.

Thanks so much for your advice, I really appreciate. Yes, I can apply showing my own financial credibility. However, as I mentioned in my initial post that I dont have documents to show my saving even though its my savings but finding it hard to show the origins on papers. Moreover, I didnt want to take any risk of refusal so thought of having a sponsorship from him would be a plus point.

Savings are not required. If you have a regular cash flow of income, and a positive bank balance, and six months historical indications of this, that is sufficient.

Please accept my apology for delay in response. Yes I have regular cash flow of income; every month salary gets credited to my salary account. As I mentioned earlier, rather than keeping the money in my account, I invest it. Now, when I needed to show the amount in my account, I deposited 2.5 Lacks in my account this week and almost 1.5 Lacks would be depositing next week.

I was just afraid of the reason, may be ECO can raise an issue, why have you deposited large amount of money 2 weeks before of submitting the visa application, however, earlier as showing in bank statement, you withdraw all the money within 10 days of salary getting credited to my account.

Do I also have to submit Letter for **Purpose of visit** along with my visa application or the letter of invitation from my sponsor (my uncle) would be good enough?

If Yes, I have to submit Letter for **Purpose of visit**, can you help me with a sample letter as I would be visiting my uncle on medical grounds since he isn’t well and fighting with cancer.

Looking forward to hear from you soon.
Regards,
Vik

Hi Lucapooka, thanks for your advice so far and I really appreciate it.

Today I have come to know about different news from my sponsor, actually my uncle was providing with the Accommodation Letter since the home in London is on his name and Sponsorship was provided by my cousin (my uncle’s on), since he is working, however, for past several months, he doesn’t have adequate and sufficient balance to show as a sponsor, although he is hold a Savings Bond worth £10,000.
So at this stage, can I skip him as my sponsor and take only the accommodation letter from my uncle. And use only my account balance of 4 lacks (appx £4500) for my trip for 4 weeks.

Or what would documents would you suggest to require from UK at this stage? I have mentioned a few documents from UK in previous post, so you suggest me, which one to ask for, as I am skipping sponsorship from UK:
Documents from UK :
1. Copy of Passport
2. Sponsorship Letter
3. Accommodation Letter
4. 6 Months Bank Statements (Which includes a covering letter from bank stating the account balance since Bank’s in UK don’t stamp the bank statements anymore)
5. 6 Months’ Salary Slips
6. Letter from GP or Doctor stating his condition and health status
7. Reference Letter to British High Commission, New Delhi. stating about the invitation to UK

I am really looking forward to hear from you soon…

Vik

Hi, making 2 large deposits of 1.5 lacs & 2.5 lacs in the space of a week or 2 will not help your application. They usually pick up on such deposits. You will need to explain them properly.
