The wait is over....but some questions

Post by hk_007 » Thu Sep 09, 2004 10:37 am

Thanks to this forum for the productive discussions, tips and suggestions.

Here is my time-line
In-country application received by HO: April 13
Ref no: 0165xx
Date on approval letter: Sept 06
Documents+letter received: Sept 08

Now the questions.

I am in the UK on a work permit and my wife came along on a dependent-WP visa. She has now got a job and her company has sent in her application for WP this week.

The question is when I send in my FLR application will I also have send my wife's passport to get her the dependent-HSMP status (I have claimed spouse points)? Or can I send the application for myself and when my wife gets her WP she applies separately for her FLR? This way both of us will have independent visas.

Your inputs, suggestions especially from the legal angle is much welcome.

Congratulations mate, I m still waiting for it. 15th March Applicant I m.

As you have claimed for your wife points, you shud send her passport as well. One thing, HSMP give you a year initially and then renewal to 3 yrs but your work permit can be issued to 2,3 or 4 years. Choice is yours as you are already lucky in getting so much opt with u.
Regards,
Afzal

Would it be possible for you share with us one more digit of yourapplication no. I am maintaining a file for all the April 2004 applicants to calculate the no. of applicatins processed every week.

Thanks,
Noddy.

Thanks folks for u wishes.

ND,

I had completed 8 months on my WP when I applied. I had claimed points for:

Ph.D. - 30
Ph.D. + specialist exp - 35
Significant achievements - 15
Spouse - 10
Total = 90

Since I had crossed the reqd points I did not go to the trouble to get points for salary since they were in two countries and would have invloved too much paper work. I did not submit any documents for the "Salary" section.

Noddy214,
As far as I can see the data put on the HO website is accurate for HSMP processing, It is because of time in post to out of UK applicants that a delay creeps in getting the letters.

All the best to all of you.
