Lost passport but already switching to new visa

Hi,

I am on UK Tier 1 PSW dependent visa which was stamped in my passport but I recently lost my passport. The current visa is due to expire in Sep so my spouse employer is anyways ready to switch us to Tier 2 General visa.

I have applied for new passport at Indian Embassy but after getting the new passport , would I need to reapply for tier-1 dependent (which is my current visa) before switching to tier- 2 dependent or can I go directly to tier-2 dependent w/ police FIR copy?
