Multi entry visa applied for, single entry visa

Post by ninocass » Tue May 21, 2013 12:37 pm

My wife's (british settled) parents applied for a visitor visas in Beijing. On the application we requested and paid for a multi entry and stated that we are expecting are first born as as such her parents would be visiting regularly.

They have collected their visas today and they have been issued single entry visas. I believe a single entry is £80 and a multi is £278 but they have not been issued a refund for the difference. have they just paid £198 per visa for the chance of having a multi entry visa issued?

thanks

Unfortunately... yes
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... ral/apply/

"You should think carefully before applying for a long-term visit visa. We may refuse the visa or issue it for a shorter period than you have applied for (if, for example, the evidence that you provide does not support a long-term visit visa application, or does not meet the visa requirements). If we refuse the application or issue the visa for a shorter period, we will not refund your application fee."
