is there a time limit in which to apply

I have been using this website and it has always helped so thankyou for that.

A friend of mine has run into a predicament, he got his extension for tier 4 towards the end of his degree which gave him almost six months extension. What he wants to know is that is there any time limit in which he has to apply for the next course after his previous course/degree has ended.

I mean if he got his results in end of November and was given an extension till mid of June should he apply for his next course six.months after his results/convocation or he can apply untill his visa allows him stay.

As per guideline if a course finishes earlier than the expected time then the remaining length of visa change into 60 days and there should not be gap more than one month between visa expiry date and the new course start date.

If your course ends earlier than expected (because, for example, your education provider has cancelled your place on the course, or you have finished the course early), we will limit your permission to stay to 60 days. But we will not limit your permission to stay if it will expire in less than 60 days anyway".
