Hey,
Not sure if this topic may have been discussed in earlier posts. If yes, then I apologize and will appreciate if someone can provide the inputs.
I am going to apply for HSMP visa in Australia. Fortunately, I can score just 75 points to gain the approval from HO if my annual salary is more than £35K. However, the problem has arisen. I will earn around 90K Australian Dollar (37K Pounds) before Tax in 2006-2007 financial year (1 July 2006 – 31 June 2007) which allow me to score 40 points to meet the requirement. I can obtain the salary slip to prove that I have annual income of AU$90K. But I got the problem with my income tax return statement. My taxable income won’t be AU$90K under Australian Taxation System!! When I claim my tax, I always have some work related expenses which is tax deductible. I estimate I will claim AU$15K work related expenses and it will reduce my taxable income to AU$75K which I can only gain 30 points. The income tax return statement in Australia will only show AU$75K, not AU$90K. I believe this problem must be very common in the countries such as Australia, NZ. Given only taxable income and no tax deductible income shown in income tax return statement, what can I do to solve this problem.
All constructive response is fully appreciated!
Thanks again!!
