Family visit visa for my mom

Post by newbiepk » Wed May 29, 2013 8:48 pm

Hello,

First of all, thanks in advance for your response.

I need urgent help with answers to the questions I have, I will try to be precise. I got my ILR in Feb 2013 and have had a troubled marriage. My husband and I are separated and social services have put my son in Child in Protection plan because of my abusive relationship with my husband and in laws. Social services have no concern about my parenting ability and advised me to take my son for holiday to see my family in Pakistan before I return to work in August.

My family lives in Pakistan, my plan is to bring my mother with me so she can look after my son when I go to work. I have moved into one bedroom flat and claim housing benefit. My financial state is a mess and that is why I am reluctant to sponsor my mom. Can you please help me with the documents I need to show to sponsor my mother? I only want my mother to stay for 3 months since I need to complete my work contract to get promoted and after that I can quit work if need be.

My father in law is my mother's brother and is in stable financial situation, I have asked him to sponsor my mother (she being his sister) but he keeps making excuses. I am not sure if I should go ahead and apply as her sponsor myself since I really need her for sometime here, not just to help with my baby but for my emotional wellbeing as well.

After divorce, I want to be able to work and provide for my son since I did have a good job. Also under what category should I apply for my mom's visa?
Secondly, how open should I be in my application, I have been warned that UKBA won't like the fact that social services are involved. My mom has a lot of second cousins in the UK willing to invite her but should I seek their help?
