TIER 4 dependent to TIER 1 (200K)

Is it possible to switch from Tier 4 dependent to Tier 1 200 K route. If a Tier 4 dependent invests 200K in any business or show the required funds in his/her bank account; is it possible to apply in country or one has to leave UK and apply from home country. Lastly in case dependent gets the Tier 1 visa from in or outside UK how would the Tier 4 main applicant switch from Tier 4 to Tier 1 dependent. Please advise. Thanks

It is not possible to switch from tier 4 dependent to tier 1 entrepreneur or from tier 4 to tier 1 dependent from within the UK. Both applications need to be made from outside.

Thanks a lot Greenie. Could you please also confirm that is it possible to buy a business being a Tier 4 dependent and then show that investment when applying from outside UK for Tier 1 or is it any restriction for tier 4 dependent visa to buy any business?

well it is possible to invest as tier 4 cause in the guidance u can clam it if u already invested in uk in last 12 months but tier 4 wont be able to work there more then 20 hours as they are not allowed more then 20 hours a week but if u got dep they can work full time

but applying from tier 4 to tier 1 with in uk not possible now u need to go back to apply now so are u going to risk it to invest n go back and its 50 50 to get visa
