Traveling without BRP card....pls advise

Post by ramya80 » Tue Jun 04, 2013 6:34 am

Hi, I have got a peo appoinment on 15th june for me and my wife for T2 switch. My wife need to travel outside the uk on 18th june and she has got her previous dependent visa sticker on her passport and the expiary is 8th july.

My question is, assuming my application was successful. Can my wife travel on that date?? After the appoinment but before the BRP receipt.I know that it will take 5-7 days to receive the BRP card but I thought to take her BRP while I am going to pick her after a month.I should have received both of us BRP then.

Appreciate your kind responses...thanks

Well, You dont need the BRP to leave the country. As long as she has her passport she can leave anytime. If you are sure, your application is approved and you will receive her BRP as well, she can very well leave the country.

She will only need it while coming back!

Note that if the application is successful her previous BRP will no longer be valid and if she tries to enter the UK before 8 July using it, and the IO at the airport checks it on the HO system, she may be refused entry.
