Salary advice for Tier 2 Extension

Post by jacynta » Wed Jun 05, 2013 8:04 am

Hi all,

My salary has reduced compared to the initial SoC application back in 2010.
My tier 2 is due extension, I would like to know if this will be an issue?

If your salary reduced some time in the past while you had Tier 2 leave, and subject to certain exemptions, you should have made a change of employment application with a new CoS at that time .

If your salary will only reduce for the new period of leave you are now seeking then this will not be an extension application but a change of employment application.

See the Tier 2 policy guidance for the criteria that apply to change of employment applications. They are somewhat different from those for extension applications.

Hi manci,

Thank you for your reply.

But I am with the same job and same employer, just different position.

it is unclear what your question is.

What does same job different position mean? Different or same SOC code?
When has or will your salary reduce?

You need to provide more detail.

Hi manci,

I came as pharmacist manager SOC 2213
I decided to drop out from management as I dislike it but hence just a pharmacist SOC 2213 still.

But of course the salary was reduced.

SOC code 2213 (pharmacist) has a number of different salary bands. I am not familiar with the job descriptions for the different bands as this is probably a matter specific to the profession.

For the renewal of your leave you need a new CoS in which the job descripton should make clear which band you will be in and your salary must be at least the minimum prescribed for that band. See:
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... orkers.pdf

If you satisfy the requirements there should be no problem with the application

You may also wish to have a look at the Tier 2 policy guidance:
