ILR Success @ Solihull PEO - Contractor via Umbrella company

Post by vrsec666 » Wed Jun 05, 2013 4:37 pm

First of all I would like to say big thanks to the creators of this enormous Immigration encyclopaedia where by saving thousands of pounds for the applicants to give the confidence to apply on their own and be successful !!

My PEO appointment was on May 29th 2013 @ Solihull 10AM

I applied along with my wife under Tier 1(G) 3+2 years

We went there night before and stayed at Travelodge near by to avoid any unwanted delays as we live in London.

Reached PEO at 9.30 am and was asked to come back 10 minutes before appointment .

We went there again at 9.50 am and were allowed in , after all the security checks reception staff issued a token which will be the reference through out the process .

Called by the Caseworker at 10.30 am who was very cheerful and was smiling through out the process. Asked for the application form and took the payment details and sent for payment and then asked for the documents in following order , they got this check list which they tick to confirm .

Docs asked for

1. Life in UK test certificate
2. Payslips ( Just submitted for last 8 months )
3. Bank statements
4. Cohab Docs ( Council tax bill for whole 2 years , NHS letters , HMRC letters )

I am working as a contractor through umbrella company and I get paid weekly , no questions were asked but it took some time for her to cross check as there were around 30 payslips.

Also she checked the earnings that were claimed during my previous extension on the system and the amount is slightly less but I am getting similar points as the earnings were in the same bracket , she asked her colleague and he said it's no problem. My advice for future applicants is to show more or same earnings from the last extension if you have one even though there is no such requirement but it was mentioned in some other peo experience posts as well to avoid any unwanted questions.

No questions were asked about absences as mine were around 125 days .

After all the checks she said you will get your ILR pending biometrics and she kept our old Biometric cards with her which is always a good sign!

We were called for Biometrics after 10 mins or so and after 15 mins we were asked to return after 2 hours to collect documents. We collected the documents with approval letter attached.

Got BRP for both of us on 03/06/13

It was very smooth experience overall.

Hi there,

Just wanted to check, what would happen to those who are earning less than their previous extension salary. Did any one faced any issues, I was in the impression that as long as you get the points in the points calculator you should be fine..

Thanks

You don't need to worry at all, just that you need to remind them rules if they question that you got enough points

Thanks , I was actually kind of surprised when she mentioned about earnings from previous extension but ILR rules clearly states you need to meet certain points to qualify which has nothing to do with previous extension.

Congratulations.Don't know why, Solihull PEO are bringing this new rule regarding the salary Now has to be more than your salary at Extension. One of My friend argued still CW did not approve his ILR.He applied on the same day as mine 2 1/2 weeks ago. Keeping the documents for further checks.

Why do you need to submit 4. Cohab Docs ( Council tax bill for whole 2 years , NHS letters , HMRC letters )?

Is it mandatory??

Hi Kevin,
This rule of having more salary than previous extensions is only valid in Sollihul.. is it all PEOs have different rules or what.. I am realy getting tensed as last time I was earning more than now and since I didnt get the proper job which I am specialised in .. I took a part time job paying me only that much which can give me that many points which I need to get 75. Now I am getting tensed as after so many years of hardship life.. I might get refused.... as last time I got 45 points for the salary and this time I am aiming only for 35...

I think there won't be any problem at all , for your peace of mind avoid Solihull if possible as this is the only PEO so far raises this issue from previous experiences on this forum . Also take out the printout along with you of the rules that I gave in the above link

If thats the case then Please avoid Solihull PEO. Don't worry unnecessarily, each case is different.
