I just returned from USA on my non-British passport with ILR, no problem.

You have a valid passport and a valid ILR, so travel freely with no worries.

Yes,

Nonetheless, I do not wish to start this debate again but want to reiterate my understanding on this view and confirmed from IND, i.e. your ILR is valid on your non-British passport.
