New points based system to start in the new year

I wonder if this will affect people who are due for ILR middle of next year? (If at all?)

Yes my feeling is that this new points system will come into effect from 1st April 08 and will be with immediate effect, as with all the other changes the HO has bought forward over the last 24 months.

The points system has got nothing to do with ILR so I don't see how it would affect ILR.
