HSMP Approved...WP Holder...What next????

Post by HSMP_ACCOUNT » Sun Apr 22, 2007 9:44 pm

Dear All,

First of all I would like to thank everyone for their valuable posts.
It was quite helpful for me when I made my HSMP application in early Feb.

I got an HSMP approval in early March.

I am a Work permit holder and have been living in UK for around 2 years.

I got the HSMP so that I can change jobs.

Few open questions:

- What do I need to do for getting FLR stamped (my current one is valid for another year)?

- I have read on this forum that I have to submit all the documents which I submitted for getting the HSMP approval. But, when I look at the FLR (HSMP) form it doesnt say so. On the contrary, only the HSMP extension candidates are asked to submit the documents (Salary slips, education etc.)

- If I get another visa stamp, does my Work Permit become void? Would my employer be sent an intimation by Home office & lastly can I still continue working for the same employer without letting him know.

Thanks in advance for you help.....

Best, HSMP_APPROVED

i was in the UK on a work permit. i applied for HSMP in dec 06. approved.

applied for FLR(HSMP) on 20-Feb-07. Approved 12-May.

you must fill in FLR(HSMP). read the guidance notes carefully. as this is your initial HSMP, you do not need to fill in the HSMP extension bits. I attached the following covering letter (which lists all the docs i sent):

meggles address

Work Permits (UK) – FLR(HSMP)
PO Box 493
Durham
DH99 1WT

20-Febuary-2007

Dear FLR(HSMP) Team,

This letter is to outline my enclosed application for the FLR(HSMP). I started work in the UK on 10-Sep-03 with a (2) Year Work Permit. This initial Work Permit was then extended for a further 3 years. I am currently working in the UK on this 3 Year Work Permit. This application is to change my status from FLR(WP) to FLR(HSMP).

Since being in the UK, I have only had one employer: xxx. I started working for them on 10-Sep-03 and continue to be employed by them. The contact person at this office is Ms. boss, title, email, phone, fax.

I have enclosed the following supporting information:

1. HSMP Letter- Reference 200XXX
2. 2 photos with my name written on the back
3. Current Passport
4. (6) Months UK Checking Account Statements
5. (6) Months UK Savings Account Statements
6. (6) Months UK Wage Slips
7. (6) Months US Checking Account Statements
8. Mortgage Statement showing that I own my own house in the UK, and hence have suitable accommodation.

Thank you for considering my applications and I look forward to you prompt response.

Regards,
meggles

when you obtain your FLR(HSMP) your FLR(WP) becomes null & void. you can continue working for the same employer. your employer is not contacted and need not know.

It was in-country application.
- Home Office received it next day
- Reference number was given the day after receiving
- It took exactly 4 weeks to get the approval

hope it helps...
