Dependent Visa: Appointment & when to travel

Hi Guys,

I have two questions on the out-of-country dependent visa application:

1) After filling in the online application, what are options for appointment to submit documents (do you need to take it within a week?)..i haven't completed my application, which is why i want to ask.

2) After getting the dependent visa is there a time-limit within which you need to travel to the UK? I couldn't remember where but i vaguely remember reading that you need to travel within 3 months of your visa grant, is that true? otherwise you need to apply again..

No, I dont think theres a restriction on the dependent to travel within certain number of days of getting visa.
As I remember my dad got his visa and came here and then my mom came here almost after an year, and no problems at all.
But, the case might be a bit different, as it was in those early days before they raised minimum earnings to 35k, a few months before that, and my dad applied from Pakistan and then came here.
Anyways, it shouldn't make any difference either way, as in both cases its T1-general.

Thanks - that basically means dependents can travel to the UK anytime they want as long as their visa is valid..

1) if you do not submit your online application then you can make amendments within 7 days, when you make any changes then you get another 7 days and so on, you have to make any changes within every 7 days.....once online application is submitted you can get appointment within 90 days but you can not make any changes...from date of submission you get 90 days to submit all your docs and biometrics...
2)once dependent visa is granted you travel even on the last date of your visa expiry.....only problem is when you apply Indefinite UKBA will count your time from 1st day of entring to UK...if you travel within 90 days of your visa then there is no problem as they can hold your application for 90 days at the time of PR..
