Query regrading counting abscence for continuous period

Post by dk2011 » Sat Jun 08, 2013 7:48 am

Hi ,
I have got one query regrading counting continuous period.
Entry clearance date:27/07/2008
Entry date:06/aug/2008

I'm applying on 15th of july which is 21 days before my fifth anniversary in UK from entry date 06/aug/2008.
I'm preparing excel for absences. The year 5 should be

Year 5 15-Jul-2009 14-Jul-2008
Or
Year 5 15-Jul-2009 06-aug-2008 ?

Year 1 15-Jul-2013 14-Jul-2012
Year 2 15-Jul-2012 14-Jul-2011
Year 3 15-Jul-2011 14-Jul-2010
Year 4 15-Jul-2010 14-Jul-2009
Year 5 15-Jul-2009 14-Jul-2008

Could you please check and advise?

You need to change the Year Nos. Year 5 will be the latest,Year 1 the first.

Year 1 will be 15/07/2009-14/07/2008 and so on. It's really confusing this way, giving dates. I did it 2013-2008(Year 5 to Year 1).No questions asked.

Most of the people have experienced if your leaves are less than 180 days then it isn't required. But , if you can get it from your employer it would be good. Some people are finding it difficult to get it from employer.
