Hello All,
I applied for extension of Tier 1 visa in March 2011 and gave biometric at PEO in May 2011.
I am still waiting for result of my application.
As per UKBA website - waiting times section- my application is waiting for consideration.
As on today, I have become eligible for ILR (indefinite leave to remain).
I would like to change my application from FLR (extension of Tier 1 visa) to ILR application.
Is this possible?
Kindly let me know procedure for this.
I will need my passport for Life in the UK test.
This way I can save money by just paying difference in fee to UKBA as well as time.
Many thanks
Ramek

Do they return passport for 'life in the uk test' without making application withdrawn?
Many thanks

If you have a
UK driving licence (provisional or full), you may use that for LITUK.

Thanks sushdmehta.
I do not have UK passport.
I called home office - Immigration enquiry bureau on 0870 606 7766
They said "you can apply for ILR but you have to pay full fee.
If you do not pay full fee then your application will be rejected.
Home office may or may not refund difference in the fee.
They could no give any info on return of passport for life in the uk test.
I also sent an email to them.
Please suggest if I should apply for ILR or wait for my Tier-1 extension to be approved.

You're in a catch-22; without the passport you cannot do your LiUK test, and without the LiUK 'pass' certificate you cannot apply for ILR.
Without any guaranteees from UKBA, maybe it's best to wait for the current process to finish and then apply for ILR.

Hi,
My circumtances are,
1- Tier1 (General) visa granted: 16/03/09(For 03 years).
2- Entry in UK : 28/06/09.
3- Tier1 extension applied: 10/03/12.
4- Extension visa granted: 21/05/12.
5- Extension visa validity: 21/05/14.
I now know that I have to apply for 2nd extension....and I will apply by post near my visa expiry. However before the decision will be made I am sure I will be eligible for ILR(10 days difference only), Is it possible to vary the same application for ILR? If yes please advise how can I do that?
