David78,

Have you received your passport and how long did it take? I dropped mine at the INIS office in Burg Quay on the 30th of May for re-entry visa and I have not received it at the moment. Am a little bit worried now.

David78 and shintaxyz,
Did you get your re-entry VISA. I sent mine on Monday and AnPost tracking system says it arrived on Tuesday, I have a flight to catch on 30th June. Now I am worried seeing the situation of two of you above whether I'll get it in time. Kindly advise.

Visitor_ireland, I got my passport back in the post this morning. I am afraid your passport might not come back before 30th cos mine took exactly 3 weeks.

Hi shintaxyz,
This is really horrible. I have obtained a scholarship by Google for Europe, Middle East and African region while being a student in a university of Ireland. Google has invited me to their retreat in Zurich, Switzerland. I really have to attend this conference in Zurich as it is in itself a big privelege for Ireland. Is there any way I can get back my passport in time.

Please help me.

The only thing I can advise you do is if by next week Wednesday you ve not received it in the post just go to Burgh Quay if you live in Dublin. Ask to see someone at the re-entry unit or a Supervisor and explain your situation. You might be lucky to get your passport out same day. I was thinking of doing that before cos I was worried. It actually says 4 working days on the website.

Yes their web site says four weeks of processing time which is exactly why I opted for the registered post option and as per updated web site they themselves have written it is recommended to apply via registered post. This is really bad to have written one thing and not do according to it.

I emailed them today asking for return time there was no response to plenty of emails. Further I called in the morning to their office and they said you'll get it back in two weeks time as we have a lot of re-entry VISA applications; I told them I have a flight on 30th June to which the lady said, "Its just 19th June, if you don't get it before two days of your flight call us then." I said ok but her reply got me bit worried and I started searching on immigration forums which landed me here.

Anyways thanks for your kind suggestion. I plan on doing the same now; I don't live in Dublin; I am a student of NUIG but I'll go to Dublin anyways because this is really a big honor for Ireland as told by my Irish supervisor that this scholarship has been achieved by very few students in Ireland and I am also planning on getting International Office of university or my Irish supervisor involved. What do you suggest?

See the web site update for third week of June, it mentions that recommended option is to apply via registered post given the work going on there
