maintanance fund for dependant

hello all ,

I understand as per current rules for main applicant maintanance fund is 900£ if I have stayed for more than 12 months in UK .

I am confused with dependant maintanance fund
some says its 600£ some 500 £ not sure

I am applying for 1 main applicant and 2 dependant (wife and kid) please suggest how much maintanance funds i have to show for 90 days is it 2100£

thanks bubin123 for reply , if yopu can advise 1200 is for 2 dependants or each , I belive its 600*2 =1200 please advise

As per current rules, since 14th June 2012 the dependent required funds are 600 if you are in the UK for more than 12 months.

One small query (stupid query i belive ) .

the url says "Dependents of Tier 1 applicants who have been in the UK for less than 12 months "

12 months is main applicants duration right not dependant stay in UK ?

Yes 12 months period is for main application. Please read the Point 44 from the pbs dependent policy guidance

I have family of 3 Main applicant Wife and 2 year old child , I will will have to give fees of £1545( main applicant) + £1545(dependant wife ) +£1,159 (2 year old child ) = 4249£ . Am I right

No, here you are wrong.
If applying by post and all at the same time then:
Main: 1545
Dependent: 1159 each.

If at PEO and all at the same time then:

Main: 1920
Dependent: 1534 each.

I think you are checking your wife fees in over 18 and applying separately i.e. 1545

Reading this thread, I am a bit confused. Does this mean that the main migrant who is already in the UK will also have to show maintenance fund of £900 for 90 days? I thought if the dependant applies from home country, he/she will have to show atleast £600 for 90 days in either own account or in the main migrant's account if the main migrant has been living in UK for more than 12 months.

But does the main migrant (already in the UK) also need to show maintenance funds?[/quote]

Main applicant 900£
Each dependent 600£

Hi guys,
I am already on my tier 1 general visa which got extended for another 3 years from May 2013 to May 2016. I want my wife to apply as my dependent. Are you saying that when she applies for tier 1 dependant visa in home country, she will have to show £600 for her maintenance and I will have to submit my maintenance evidence worth £900 too?

But why do I have to submit my maintenance fund when I am not applying for anything? Please advise.

you just need to show £600...
£900 +£600 scenario only comes when your dependant apply same time along with you...
