Thanks
I suggest you do none of those as they wont help with anything. You can email or call the INIS about an update every month but thats about it. The best suggestion is just wait. They haven't forgotten you yet.

There were 22,000 applications awaiting decision when Alan Shatter came into Office.

To date. more than 55,000 decisions on naturalisation applications have been made since Alan Shatter came into office.

The number of applications RECEIVED by year
2009: 15,700
2010: 12,500
2011: 18,300
2012: 19,900
2013: 7,700 (End of May)

The number of applications APPROVED by year
2009: 6,100
2010: 5,000
2011: 14,300
2012: 23,400
2013: 15,100 (End of May)

The number of applications DENIED or INELIGIBLE by year
2009: 7,800
2010: 3,100
2011: 1,800
2012: 1,600
2013: 400 (End of May)

In order to conclude 18,300 (2011) + 19,900 (2012) = 38,200

38,200 + 22,000 (Awaiting decision when he came into office) = 60,200
60,200 - 55,000 (Decisions made since he came into office) = 5,200

5,200 applicants are currently waiting in excess of more than 6 months!

5,200 + 7,700 (2013 applications until the end of may) = 12,900 waiting overall.
I oppose stereotype, prejudice, xenophobe, judgmental, Ignorance, and beloved.

Hi has anyone who applied in December 2012 or January 2013 got approval? Please, if you have or know anyone who has, kindly share. Will be appreciated. Blessings on everyone!

Rgds,
This means that a decision will be made in your application in the coming few weeks.

You'll hear about the decision from the INIS in less than 3 months from now presumably.

Afrocommonwealth: Congrats.... seems like Irish spouse applications are being handled in almost 1 year. I know 2 more Irish spouse applications that were handled in almost 1 year.

IntegratedMigrant: Based on my experience of knowing atleast 2 Irish Spouse applications seems like 2-3 months is the right estimate for you to get your application decision.

I myself is Naturalized Irish citizen and my wife is waiting for her citizenship application for the last 10 months now. Just yesterday when I emailed Citizenship dept got the "standard reply" which is "Your application is in a process to establish good character etc etc" So I am also hoping that by end of august or early september my wife should get her application of citizenship decided.

You're on the same boat as @akabor and the same response applies to you as well. It is estimated you'll get a letter inform you of ministers decision in due course.

it really depends on ur luck, if the person is nice or not.
june 2012 i was told its with minister. which was a lie.
personally email was better. carmel ryan gives a standard copy paste response every time.

now wait starts for the next ceremony. atleast now its done and dusted. got to be a little bit more patient.
For some reasons this could be true. I have seen some cases where it took too long to make a decision although it has been submitted to the minister and awaiting a decision.

Hi All,

Regarding Garda stamps on Passport application - Should I need to go to only to my local Garda station or can I get it done at any Garda station, regardless?

Thanks

This is a very good question. To be short you could get it stamp elsewhere if your local station refuse to stamp it for you.

Here is a crazy situation. A friend of mine went to the station to stamp his drivers licence as part of his passport application, a guard told him that they dont certify it anymore because of the money involved!

He showed him the address to a solicitor where he can get it certified and pay the solicitor. This is despite the passport application requirements outlining that you must certify copy your drivers licence at your local police station

I found this very appalling that the local station would rather let him go and pay for the certification than doing it for him free of charge. Its criminality.
