Congratulations to all who have got visa.

May I know is there any expiry date for your visa.

As I have stated in my previous post, one of my son also got visa.
But, since he is 3 years old, his biometrics were not taken and the visa is stamped on his passport. It has got expiry date which is same as his passport expiry date.
Does this mean we have to apply for visa after visa expiry date? or will it be transferred on to his new passport?
Can anyone please answer this question.

Yes there is an expiry date on the VISA.
According to the new rule Spouse has to spend 5 years in UK before becoming eligible for settlement. So i Guess after 2 and half years we have to apply for another VISA as per the rules then.

Will the SMS that we get indicate the status?

Post by stitaprajna » Fri Jun 21, 2013 2:29 pm

Just got an SMS saying from VFS :
Processed visa application ref no. <xxxx> couriered via xxx on 21/06/2013.

On the VFS site the status is:
Processed application delivered to xxx on xxx AWB No: blank.

My question is:

1. Does 'processed' mean 'approved' ?
2. Does SMS indicate specific status like: Approved, Rejected
3. AWB number is blank. When can i expect the courier ?
Many Thanks,
Stit

For the passport number on Bluedart I am getting "Numbers Not Found" :(

Can anyone please tell me if the SMS indicate the status (approved, denied etc) or it will always say 'processed' ?
Many Thanks,
Stit

Hi,

The SMS status never quotes visa granted or denied. Once you get the documents, check your passport for visa stamping.

VFS or BHC never disclose this information.
You would know the result once passport are in your hands...

English Language Requirment

Post by newbie.scott » Wed Jun 26, 2013 1:02 pm

Friends,

Am(On ILR) going to get married by end of August in India, my fiance has studied in English medium, am taking a letter from the University to confirm this, Do you think I should also need a letter from UK NARIC?
Also, does recent changes to the immigartion rules required her to write IELTS?

Can you please confirm this, thanks for your help in advance..

Cheers

To be on safe side, get a NARIC certificate for her degree. Also get a letter from the college stating she did her education in english. This has to be for the graduate degree.

Thanks @waitnwatch, much appreciated your help.

She completed MBA, will get a letter from the Uni, as well as from the degree college, just being paranoia..:) Also NARIC as you suggested.

I see two types or certificates from NARIC:
Statement of Comparability and
English Language Assessment

I guess I go with "English Language Assessment"..

Thanks again..
Cheers

Thanks for your advise dear @sahalyabaskar

OK, I thought 'English Language Assessment ' for a moment. Basically my fiancé is applying for UK settlement visa(using VAF4A application), she need to show that she is competent in English. Can you please confirm me does providing 'Statement of Comparability' means : her MBA is is equivalent to UK standards and she do not require to take English language test.. Sorry, am bit confused..

Thanks again for your help..
Cheers
