@jeeboo1046, Sure I'll keep the forum updated.

Is there anyone who has applied for 5 yr ILR (Tier1/HSMP/WP) during December 2012 and got their ILR recently?

Thanks everyone for their updates. Anyone is aware of a way to expedite the applications that are under consideration for more than 6 months? I heard that we can approach our local MP. Does anyone know of the actual process?

You can do the following:
1) If you are working ask your employer to write you a letter asking UKBA to expedite your application (e.g. you need your docs for business travel and the company will collapse without you traveling abroad)
2) ask your lawyers to send a letter stating same reasons
3) contact MP and explain situation, ask them to help you out. (don't complain, just ask)
4) write directly to CEO of UKBA (used to be Rob Whiteman, but he has officially left now) asking to expedite.
5) if you have some awful circumstances (e.g. relatives dying outside the country) you can fax the covering letter, medical certificates etc and ask to expedite on the grounds of compassionate circumstances

From what I have gathered UKBA don't care about any work/business related circumstances. Or your social life (e.g. your relatives/friends getting married abroad).
They will expedite if say your mother is dying, but in such grim circumstances usually docs don't arrive in time.

PS: RW leaving his job..

Ahh.. This is gr8, this prove that they also start looking Dec applications. Base of other thread in this forum i thought they are considering Oct/Nov applications at the moment, Unless you tried to expedite your application :)

haha no nothing like that, I was prepared to wait 8 9 months before I got worried, I think they do try to follow the order but again depends on the caseworker which file they pick from the piles and piles of files :D
My documents were waiting in the post office for good week before I went and collected them, I was left with a royal mail card with no name on it, I didn't know if it was something for me or what was it but when I saw the royal mail lady pick up a big brown envelope my heart beat went crazy :D

Thanks for the update aamiraziz. Can you confirm whether your application was for 5 yr Tier1/WP or 10 year visa?

So I am still waiting (applied on 19th of Dec 2012).

I have so far done the following:
- sent a letter from my employer to Sarah Rapson asking to expedite my case (business travels) and asking for an update on my case (through my lawyers and separately)
- sent a letter to MP asking to help
- Called HO last week - got and answer "not completed" , "currently looking at October applications". Last sentence doesn't even make any sense, as HO has decided some applications which were made later than October.

I am impressed with my MP:
I sent a letter on Monday and received a reply on Thu. Alas, only "I have contacted HO on your behalf and will update you as soon as I receive an answer"

Just rang UKBA. Application 'under consideration' which I think actually meant 'we have not been bothered about looking at your application yet'. She say November applications are being look at currently which does seems right seeing how many November applicants are getting theirs now.... I really do hope our time is coming!!!

Called UKBA today again, still "not completed".
Asked the lady whether this means that nobody has looked at my application yet and she got offended and told me that "it is being processed by the team. It does not mean that it is just sitting there on file.
They look at applications in order and maybe they just didn't get to December" . I pointed out that according to home office themselves they have not only processed some December 2012 applications but also 2013. She didn't know what to say to that and told me that all she could see is not completed.
I feel depressed today. Mainly because last time I called I was told "it is being processed" .....

Don't get yourself down because of that. Its merely just them using different words really. It all just meant they have not look at it yet and have no guts to say it out loud that they are useless and slow and a joke to the world....
