TO apply HSMP in May but some serious doubts

Post by Achtung » Mon Apr 16, 2007 9:02 pm

Well I want to apply HSMP as soon as possible. I am from Bangalore, India But I just had a few doubts.
1) My university is not kind of popular so I believe it will be good if I go for NARIC certificate. What you guys say? Ok so I have done B.Tech in Computers 4 years course. Should I go for NARIC? My university is most likely not to be in the NARIC list...huh donno...plz suggest
2) So for NARIC I can provide the degree certificate and the marksheets. Will that be enough for NARIC to certify?
3) How do I calculate my GROSS salary. Like my salary has two basic components a) EARNINGS(which include BASIC HRA LTA General Allowance....) b) DEDUCTIONS(Provident Fund, Professional Tax, IT)...so do I actually take the EARNINGS part and I calculate my points...

It will be good if all the good souls here help me out with it.

Hello,
1) Based on reading in the forums, it is strongly recommend to go for Naric, one of my friends already have the same degree, but I prefered to isssue the letter from Naric, doing that will gurantee your points.
2) I think the certificate is engouh (not sure)
3) don't know

hi

1) you should definetely go in for naric certification

2) gross earnings before all deductions which is mentioned in your pay slip , should be taken to claim the earning points

Thanks a ton vidya. So I checked out the NARIC site and they are asking for photocopy of the degree certificate(B.Tech for my case) and transcripts. Now i am not sure of what transcripts are...Will it suffice if I give them the photocopy of my marksheets? Kindly throw some light in this issue. Thanks in advance.

Achtung, since India probably doesn't have a transcript system, your marksheets should suffice (I'd notarize any copies you send to them, just to be safe) - pls check by emailing NARIC... they're usually good in getting back to queries.

Somebody who has had their degree certificate from India reviewed by NARIC should be able to provide more helpful info.

Indeed as long as it icleraly infdicates that you pass the subjects. They just want to see which subject have you passed.

NARIC do not need a certified copy, you could even just fax the documents to them. The reason for is that they do not check the originality of your certificate. It is the responsibitlity of those who use your skills to check it (e.g HO, employers, etc). But of course they will welcome if you want to send the certified copy.

Past Income Query

Post by Achtung » Mon Apr 30, 2007 9:12 am

Thanks once again to all you who helped me to apply for NARIC.
I have just applied online and faxed them all the docs:
1) Covering Letter
2) Application Form
3) Degree Certificate(photocopy)
4) Final marksheet
5) All 8 B.Tech marksheets(photocopy) for my 4year B.Tech(Engg) course

Ok so I just had a little query on my past income:
I don't have the IT Return as it is due in the month of mid July. So I am giving the following documents. Please comment on them:

1) Payslips (signed and stamped)
2) Bank Statements (signed and stamped)
3) A letter from a CA confirming my GROSS income for the period I have claimed
4) A letter from the EMPLOYER stating my GROSS income for the period I have claimed. Now this I am not sure whether I will get. The EMPLOYER may refuse to give this document.

In such a case I have to do with docs: 1,2,3
i.e without the letter from the EMPLOYER

Is this ok? I am pretty confused and need some help. Thanks in advance.

there is no alternate of ITR...for whtever period u have u need to attach it...
Do ur bank statements have proper company name for sal entries...if not better get letters frm bank and company that entries are of salary...better if u can give employer letter...
No need of CA report....
what about eng lang requirement..

well Pam u r rite that ITR is a mandatory document for HSMP application.....but bank statement having proper company name is not a mandatory thing.........even I've got approval with bank statment just showing transfer word....... but yes my net salary was matching the statement.

First, Thanks a ton all of you for your insights.
To start with I do understand the importance of ITR.
- As I belong to India the company will hopefully issue the Form 16 by say mid of May I will get my ITR done. As per your advice I will better wait for my ITR to be ready.
- About salary being credited to the bank account and being reflected in the bank statements I will tell you my story. My company is say XXX India Pvt. Ltd. and my bank statements shows SALARY XXX (amount). o my employers full name is not displayed. Will this do? Is this is the proper name? Experts please comment.
- So if I am able to give 1) ITR 2) Payslips 3)Bank Statements(provided the format is ok???) do I still need to give the employers letter stating the salary/gross income for the period claimed
- Ok so Paul the English requirement I am sitting for IELTS this 24th as I am not happy with the English letter I got from my university.
Huh! lot of doubts guys please helppppppppppp

Ok one quick NARIC doubt:

- I am going to fax all the required docs...do they inform me when they receive it? Or I have to call them to get the info?
