Tier 2 extension refused

Post by Ravilation » Fri May 10, 2013 9:03 pm

Hi,

I got my tier 2 ICT in jan 11 and have been in the uk since. As my visa was expiring in jan 13 an I had to stay here in the uk, my company filed for an extension of my visa in dec'12. However I only heard back from the ukba on 30th apr that they have refused me FLR as my IIM degree does not give me the points required for English language. If I had given my graduation degree I would have got the points required. Now my company is thinking of appealing however they are not sure if the appeal would stand a chance. What options don't have? My initial visa has expired in jan. I have a very young family and moving out of the uk immediately is next to impossible. Please suggest.

Regards
Ravi

Hi Ravi,

First of all sorry to hear about this terrible news of rejection. UKBA as always being marginalising and ignorant on IIM ranking and refusing on the grounds of english, absolutely ridiculous. Have these people no mind??

I mean you are not applying for the first time, merely requesting a further extension, so UKBA staff/officer should have brain to know that you are already successfully working on a highly skilled job needless to say english is not a problem. They could have given you a quick call to confirm more about IIM or asked you to submit another valid document.

This is ridiculous.

I would suggest you to appeal, get your employer behind your back and send UKBA a graduation degree to tell them you meet the english language criteria. Wishing you heartiest buck up and chakk de fatte.
