ILR Received - Maternity absence case

Post by neha_12oct » Tue Jul 16, 2013 2:48 pm

Hi My Timelines,

Thanks to all the people who share there timelines and experience on this forum, it has really helped me lot for my application.

HSMP 2years +3 years Tier1

Application submitted: 2nd Nov 2012
Application Confirmation :6th Nov 2012
Biometric Request Letter:3rd Jan 2013
Biometric Done:8th Jan 2013

Wait Wait Wait........

Approached MP and MP Letter to UKBA to ask timeline:
19th June 2013

UKBA Response to MP towards end of June:
That they will soon let me know

Biometric Residence Proof/ILR received on 16th July, finally
Awaiting other documents and passport now

Also to share,I had more than 6 months stay in India on maternity leave but since I had a C-Section I was advised not to travel for few months by my Doctor in India, I submitted the doctors letters along with my reports etc with my application and also a letter from my employer stating that I had continuos 5 years of employment with them.(along with maternity pay slips etc), UKBA has considered the case. Thanks to them
But I believe this shall not be the case as per there revised law which came in December 2012, so watch out before you consider going to India on maternity leave for longer duration.

Thanks again to all the people who kept shedding light on this topic.

Regards,
Neha :-)

Its a long wait for everyone, I found below article and found that there is a quite big backlog with UKBA since mid 2012. And with recent changes in UKBA department where UKBA is split into two might have increased this backlog more. Request you to look into settlement visa processing percentile within excel document, might be of interest to many.

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... migration/

I am too waiting for my documents and BRP, its worth waiting and have patience. It seems its taking 7-8 months on an average.

SET (O), Tier 1, applied along with 2 dependents

Applied: 07th feb 2013
Acknowledged : 12th Feb 2013
Responded and fees taken: 12th feb 2013
Biometric letter received: 3rd march 2013
Biometrics taken: 3rd march 2013

Two keys are essential here : Have full faith on your Mighty Lord and patience.

Jai Sai
The excel document shows 91% cleared within service standards even for Quarter 4 2012-13. This is clearly not true right? or am I missing something? Almost all SET(O) applications are taking roughly 8 months now from what i read on here.

I called Home Office this morning and the lady told me that they are processing Nov applications which means that all Oct applications should have been processed. I explained to the lady that my application was made in Dec and that in the current situation it will take 9-10 months to be processed which is above the normal processing time of 6 month. She said that I am unfortunate that my application is part of the 5% that will take longer than 6 months. This is clearly not true if none of the Dec applications have been processed. I wrote to my MP after I spoken with Home Office and he said that he will write to the Ministers concerned. This is so frustrating, I have been waiting for more than 7 months.

Hi

Please share it if you get it. I have been trying to get in touch with Ombudsman for a while. I have been on their website quite a lot of times and it says we must get a final answer from UKBA before contacting ombudsman. What can I do if they don't reply to letters or emails? I have been waiting for 11 months and still no news. Requested MP several times but he is not interested.

So please let me also know about the ombudsman scene please. Let me now give that a go.

Thank you.

given a choice, i would definitely go for the appointment rather than postal, looking back now. it is more expensive but worth every penny.

the first few months waiting was ok, with the biometric card sort of like break the wait a little. when you get to 6 months, then you think, yes i am within the 5%, just wait a little longer.

towards the 7 months, i can tell you, you will be thinking of MP and ombudsman. getting very impatient.

this forum is useful in a way that it at least gives you a rough idea on when people are getting their ILR and you can estimate yours as well.

for example now, they are processing the first and second week of november 2012 applications. you can see the trend.

i am not entirely convinced by the MP and ombudsman, i did write to them and both the MP and ombudsman were very responsive to my query, but i doubt they can speed the process.

1) to contact MP, find your MP using your postcode on this website: http://findyourmp.parliament.uk/

they have website and email for your to write to them.

2) then to contact ombudsman: email phso.enquiries@ombudsman.org.uk

I chose for appointment, got it for 26th August 2012 at Glasgow only to be told on reaching there that "We don't deal with in-person application of the candidates who are self employed". Nowhere it was mentioned in their website and nobody told me that when I talked to UKBA personnel on phone during that time. Disgusting!! I tried to book another appointment but all in vain. I was forced to apply by post due to lack of time later on.

I applied by post on 10th of September 2012.

Till now waiting....

God save people from UKBA.

Very Good, Ali, but still your wait of 8 months is unaccelabtable for a process which is supposed to take six at most, which is why I contac, ted my MP. Again, what number did you use when calling?

This is getting worse as days pass by. I have been keeping a close eye on the processing of applications through posters on this site and others. The processing time is creeping up very consistently, used to be 6 months, then 7, 8 and now it takes a minimum of 8.5 months for majority of the applications. My submission was Feb 2013. I hope I am wrong, but I think it will be 10-11 months processing time for 2013 applications. Unless they add more staff, this situation is not going to change.
