Misspell on father first name.

Post by expresso » Thu Jul 18, 2013 10:54 pm

Hi,

I would like to find out the affect of a misspell.

My son born few week ago, I made a birth certificate for my child, when I received his birth certificate I notice a letter missing on my first name and on is 2nd name.

The child name:
John Michel SMITH GEORGE*.

Father name:
Michel SMITH GEORGE*.

Michel should be spell like Michael.

What should I do? If I request a correction I worry it will take time to correct it and will be refused.
Will be a problem if I apply British passport with this mistake?
I don't see a really issue if they recopy this name if he will not get any issue later in his life.

Thank you for your help.

*N.B. These are a fictive names.
