registration

Post by greatpeople » Sun Jun 30, 2013 4:54 am

hi
I want to apply registration of my two children born in UK (one is nearly two years old and he has Pakistani nationality and having PSW Dependent visa) and other child is two months old but we have not applied for her Pakistani nationality yet.
What should i write down in section 1.9 of MN1 form of both children?
Should application be made on form S2 or S3 or just MN1 form is sufficient for both children ?
Which documents should be attached alongwith the application? Should i send my original ILR card, my passport and birth certificates of children or photocopies are enough?
thanks

Use MN1 form for both children. In section 1.9 of the form, enter your present nationality but not british.

Following documents are required:

1.Children's Passports
2. Birth certificates.
3. Your passport and PR Card.
4. Marriage Certificate.

Always send the original documents. Photocopies are not accepted.

As your children were born in the UK and you are now settled (after their birth) they are both entitled to register as British under section 1(3) of the British Nationality Act. You should complete form MN1 they do not need ILR.

Sorry for hijacking this thread, but on guidance page 30 it says
For children living in the UK

Child's full birth certificate AND
Child's passport of entry to the United Kingdom, and any subsequent passports AND

Parents' marriage certificate
While I was filling MN1 form, I had same doubt, i was about to ask, but thanks that someone has already has this doubt.

I got Indian passport for my first son who born in UK, but second son born in UK as well but don't have Indian passport.

One more doubt, my second son who is 6 months old, who can referees.

Please don't keep starting new threads on the same topic.

Note that the form MN1 covers many sections of the British Nationality Act 1981, so some questions may not be applicable.
