Skilled Migration to Netherlands ???

Hi Friends,

Recently I come across a newsletter in workpermit.com that Netherlands is trying to welcome Skilled Workers on Points Bases System, does anyone have any idea about this scheme - when it is going to start and how to apply and how to calculate the points???

Netherlands is the one of the toughest countries to find a job, get a work permit and they are really good about ripping you off. I suggest you stick to the UK or go to any other european country first before considering the netherlands

Most Dutch people can speak English but if they know you are in the Netherlands to work they expect you to speak some Dutch. Coming from a person knowing the Dutch language I can guarantee the pronounciation is extremely difficult.

Depending on your nationality. Would-be immigrants hoping for Dutch citizenship will also need to pass a special test on Dutch language and culture, the country's parliament has ruled.

The Dutch immigration test is openly discriminatory in that it only applies to would-be immigrants from "non-Western countries,". So if you are not from America , the European Union or some other western countries good luck in taking the Dutch language and citizenship test.

There is no points system in The Netherlands yet. You still have to find an sponsoring employer .

any one know if it can be converted into permanent residence for foreign students ? it is stated pretty clearly that it can be converted into permanent residence for work permit holders but is there also some channel for students ? please do comment !
