Dividend Voucher

Post by krish007 » Sun Aug 04, 2013 12:22 pm

Hello All,

I will be applying for my Tier 1 General in 3 weeks times, i am an IT contractor.. i have my own limited company.. i pay myself a salary and Dividends.

So my doubt is about the Dividend Voucher.. As i am the sole owner of the company.. can i give myself dividends voucher (like To and From).. or do i need a Secretary to sign for my voucher ?

If any one could share a template for the Dividend Voucher that will be of great help...

Thanks
Krish

So if your company pays you dividends, is it doing it properly? A board resolution?

I suggest you do a Google search for ... dividend voucher template ... lots of useful hits there, which will answer all your queries.

Well yes, you should not just take the money from the company. The Board of Directors needs to pass a resolution.

Even so the Board of Directors needs to pass a resolution. Usually the Articles of Association of the company permit these things to be done by written resolution. which should then be added to the Minute Book.

The company is a separate legal entity, separate from its shareholder and director.

If you are the only officer of the company, that is, if you are the only Director and there is no Company Secretary, then clearly you will need to sign the dividend voucher on behalf of the company.

Hi Krish

I don't think that will be a issue. All you need to make sure you create the vouchers correctly on your companies letterhead.

Thanks
