Hello,
Is GCSE level qualification (for English language Qualification criteria) valid while applying for Naturalization?

I have demonstrated my english language knowledge when I applied for HSMP and then T1(G) extension. Do I have to take another English test if I apply for Citizenship after 28th October.

When did you pass the GCSE exam? Have you also passed the Life in the UK test?

Thanks Casa. So it means that a degree level certificate is not equivalent to B1 level?

If you have a degree taught in English which is comparable to a UK degree then you should satisfy the new requirements. You will still need the LIUK certificate or equivalent.

At present the minimum level, B1, is roughly equivalent to a GCSE standard of English. It is not clarified whether this will be accepted.

Thanks a lot D4109125. I have passed the LIUK test for my settlement so it should be ok. My degree is from UK (Sheffield) so by default it falls in to this category which is mentioned in thier policy.
