Addendum: SOC code 2013?

Post by JS28 » Wed Aug 14, 2013 8:39 am

Hi All,

My background, I am an FE lecturer and currently on Tier 2 Gen Visa. I will be renewing my visa in 2016 so keeping an eye on changes so that I can be aware of it.

I went on to check the SOC code and found an addendum at the beginning of the SOC code 2013 file:
Addendum
The "Thresholds" section on page 4 of this document states that all of the salary rates quoted are based on a 39-hour working week unless otherwise specified.
The rates are based on a 39-hour working week for all occupations where the salary source used is the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings 2011.
Where other salary sources are used, please note that the rates are based on the following weekly hours:
 Where the source is NHS Agenda for Change or the Royal Institute of British Architects, a 37.5- hour week;
 Where the source is teachers‟ national pay scales, on the definition of a full-time teacher as used when determining those pay scales;
 Where the source is the National Grid submission to the Migration Advisory Committee, a 37- hour week;
 In all other cases, a 40-hour week.
Can anyone please tell me which working hours I should be basing it on since I have to be earning 32, 421 as a senior lecturer under SOC code 2312.

This will help me plan for things ahead since I might not get paid 32,421 for 37 hours a week.

Thank you
