Reg Apostille

Post by Bloody-Fox » Thu Aug 15, 2013 8:12 am

Morning everyone,

I have contacted the EU treaty rights section regarding our marriage certificate, which has been issued and translated in Brazil.

They told me that they simply need an Apostille on it for it to be valid in Ireland and that I should contact the closest Brazilian embassy.
The Brazilian enbassy, however told me that for a Brazilian document to be accepted in Ireland, it needs to be stamped by some authority in Brazil and then by the Irish embassy in Brazil..

So I'm not quite sure what to do now. Can I just go to any notary public and get an Apostille on it? I remember when we applied for the residence card in Spain, the Brazilian document was accepted with a translation and Apostille by a notary public from Gibraltar...

Any ideas?

Cheers

It would be much better if you could stick to one thread. Thanks.
