non-eu vistor in UK - hope of getting schengen for 10days?

Post by vin123 » Wed Aug 14, 2013 3:18 pm

2 visitors currentlty in UK (indian passport, uk tourist visa valid till Dec-2013, with return tickets in Oct-2013)

Would like to travel to France,Germany and switzerland by coach for 5 days from UK (via Calais), however they do not currently hold a schengen visa.

Schengen visa should have been applied in India, however, its too late and already arrived in UK.

Is there any chance/hope for applying and getting a short stay schengen visa while in UK to travel to France/Germany/Switzerland coach trip on Startours ? Has anyone had any success ?

Thanks

Non-residents in UK on a tourist visa cannot apply for Schengen visa within UK

This is generally correct, but not always so. There are circumstances where a Schengen visa can be applied for outside country of residence - I would agree this is not likely to be one of them, but one can try and argue one's case.

I did some research - this is a bit vague area, some counsulates specially mention that you should apply for tourist visa in your normal country of residence, some do not.

There is a visa guide, which gives some details.
