I've e-mailed them for the first time when the waiting exceeded the 2.5 months "average" time of waiting - according to some internet forums, and when I heard that two people who applied about the same time as I had received their approval letters.

I thought that I'd better check if HO had sent me more correspondence since May. So it turned out that they did. Only it's never been delivered. Not until I asked them (in yet another e-mail) to post a new copy of the letter to me. Then I finally got it :)

Here is the e-mail address I used: NationalityProgress@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

OMG they having a laugh. They charged bloody hundreds of pounds but can't spend another £1.70 for recorded postage.
If you hadn't contacted them and waited probably your three months would have been passed...
Congrats to you anyway.

Congarts, linuxman! It seems it is taking long time to receive the approval after the actual approval date in this case 23 July. I saw another post similar to this.

I applied on 10th June and contacted home office and 2day I received an email

I have checked our records and can see that your application is still being processed by the casework team.
I don't know what exactly it means ..,
Will it take longer or is it around the corner
