child benefit

Post by Timber0613 » Wed Aug 21, 2013 11:07 pm

Hi, I had a daughter recently and I was looking at the application to add her to my existing claim of my other 2 kids. Currently I am going through problems with child tax as they stopped the monies for two months now as had to change to joint claim and they not paying because wife doesnt have nino, but since she is under immigration control and cannot receive benefits in her name do I have to fill out the spouse section of the child benefit application? And does anyone know if I would be going through the same problem as child tax in regards to my wifes issues and them stopping the benefit? Thanks for any advice.

Child benefit just needs to be in your name, it should be easier than tax credits. Tell tax credits your wife doesn't need a NINo if subject to immigration control, or perhaps easier, get your wife a NINo.

You put your partner's details in but you're the main claimant so it'll be in your name.
