Dear tribalboy

You need to mention the reliable source of your information, especially on the contraversial issue like this. Otherwise your information tends to confuse people rather then helping people.

Remember if you just want to spread irresponsible rumour, other people could also response in similar kind.

For instance other people might say all Non EU citizen will be forced out of the country next year.

And they will argue it is just a rumour ...........

You know, some people believe in aliens, and maybe their friends may well think that such rumours are true. But you should know by now that if you search for information and cannot find anything, then it is probably not true. At least, even if it was, why oh why would the BIA want the whole world to know? That is just plain dumb.

They cannot DISCONTINUE immigration rules. It has been in place since the beginning of the nation-state! Well..at least citizenship rules kind of have. They might change things, but they've been doing so for the past 30-odd years, nothing new there.

Where did you get this crappy information from?? Have you done any searching yourself? Always really un-impressive when people post without the relevant sources - it makes others panic. Don't you know how powerful G00gle is!!?

Or maybe you mean the new system coming in 2008? That's not a discontinuation, though.

ILR

Post by tribalboy » Tue May 22, 2007 9:46 am

Apologies I had no intention of disturbing people like this but I heard this from someone I knew.

Now this person had also told me that the 4 year rule was going to be changed to 5 years and I was then about to get ILR based on the 4 year rule. But just 2 months before I could apply they changed it to 5 years leaving me shell shocked. Now I hear this from the same person so it prompted me to ask on this really helpful newsgroup

If this is causing such worries I WOULD REQUEST THE MODERATOR TO DELETE THIS POST PLEASE

That doesn't explain what you are writing about. What is being discontinued, why and when? Where did your friend hear this from?

ILR

Post by tribalboy » Tue May 22, 2007 11:21 am

Dear friend Sakura

well he just told me he heard it from some of his friends as he told me last time. I was not sure about the source thats the reason why I am inquiring in this forum. Why on earth do you think I would have asked a question stating it as a rumor. I would have pointed to references and made it aware to all the people in this newsgroup if I had known myself or if he had proven me its authenticity. I am just one of that ordinary members of the public who is inquisitive to know if this is really the case.
Regarding what is being discontinued it is ILR if you have not read the post clearly. If at all, why and when is the question I would like to know myself

I heard a rumour that the royal family are actually lizards wearing human face masks. My friend David Ike told me so it must be true.
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.

Well actually it is "ILR and subsequently citizenship", is what you wrote. I didn't mean what preciesely, I think I forgot to type 'part', i.e. 'what part' is being discontinued (the whole thing, or part of the qualifying criteria?).

I think your friend, or friend's friends, mis-read something. Nothing is going to be discontinued.

Dawie....precisely what I was thinking!

I know the news or rumour seem to be daunting and nobody wish it were true. However we could not just hide the heads in the sand and tell ourselves that everything is going to be ok.

A positive way of looking at this is to continue fighting for our rights. E.g support the 4-5 hearing or HSMP victims. I doubt if HO will change the law again in a sudden way. However if this is what they are considering we should start to prevent it at the very beginning!!

I agree that we could not just hide and tought that everything to be ok. In fact, I believe members will be very thankful if the person suxch as tribalboy provide the correct information, provide reliable source of information not just spread irresponsible issue.

If U tolerate such kind of behaviour then anybpdy would be able to spread rumours whatever they want.

If you could not know which information is true which is not true anymore then what is this forum for ?

You are absolutely a Superman and your friend too! But this is not the world (earth) or right place for people like you to live, because this world is fit for only normal human.

You should really look for an ideal place where you fit very well

Tribalboy just is just telling people what he heard, there is nothing wrong with that. Why do so many people accuse him for that?? I understand that if the news was true it will be horrible. But why could not we even talk about it?

U miss the point. The point here if U could spread isssue without evidence and U tolerate this behaviour then next time anybody could post what they want.

I give already example; next time other people will say:
Next year all non EU citizen must leave the country.
and they will say I heard it from my father, my grandfather, or whatever they want.

If people could not belive the information in this forum then Why should the people read this forum ?

the guy came here to say: "Rumors : ILR to be discontinued"
he didn't come here to say: "ILR to be discontinued"

he came here to ask if a rumor is true.
he didn't came here to spread a rumor as if it was true.

sorry, i can't see why so many people are mad of him.

having said above, tribalboy mate, i don't think this rumor is going to be true, well, not in the near future at least. because:

ILR 4-5 and HSMP changes did raise a lot of anger. but what caused the anger are not the changes themselves, it is the way they were implementationed. all the changes were told or tipped by the HO beforehand.

base on the above fact, i can't see ILR is to be discontinued without any forecast.
