Refused - unable to verify evidence from employer

Post by rajeevanand » Mon May 21, 2007 10:16 am

Hi Guys

I applied for HSMP on 19th March and received a decision last wednesday saying it has been refused. And they refused to give any further details on the decision. I arranged a courier and received the documents and decision letter on 19th May.

It says "We have attempted and have been unable to verify the documents supplied with your application, using standard procedures. The documents we have been unable to verify are those provided from <employer name>."

The evidence I attached from my employer were - salary slips and income letter.

From the HO letter, it is not very clear as to what they verified and what was the outcome. After calling them back, they have given me an address for 'Subject Access Bureau' where I can request a copy of the verification report. But I have no idea how long this could take to get a reply.

Anyone been in a similar situation ?

I'm not sure if I should apply for a review without knowing further details. If I wait, the time might be over for review.

Your inputs will be highly appreciated.

I was qualifying for 80 points and had submitted all original evidence. I have not been given any points for income.

Thanks
Rajeev

@@Rajeev,

Sorry to hear the rejection... :(

Have you got the ***verification report***?

Are you able to get information regarding what is the verification process? Like how do they contact the employer?

I applied in first week of February  . My application was first in ***Verification Check*** and now in ****Further Verification Check****? I don’t know what they are doing and what they want to do..???

Do let us know with your experiences…!

And best of luck for your review.

@@vora

Can you please tell us in detail what were the reason for your application rejection??

Any Help/Guidance for us..????

Regards,
S.I

Siqbal,
my reason for refusal was "unable to verify earnings evidence". I have called HSMP team yesterday and asked that, if i can have details of my refusal. Operator put me on hold and after a while said "your employer did not verify the employment details". He advised me to see the Freedom of Information section on Workingintheuk.gov.uk website. I checked the information there and noticed that u can request the details of your case, held by the HSMP team.

I have requested that information, but that will be too late because they have mentioned it could take upto 20 working days. But I'm in process of writing my review anyway. Lets see...

See the link below for Freedom of Information contact details.

Hi Guys

Mine is an out of country application. Applied from India. But my earnings evidence were from UK as I was working until Jan 2007 and then returned to India.

I called my previous employer and found out that there was no one available in office to receive the phone. My assistant manager whose contact I had provided was mostly travelling and was unavailable in office. He has now given his mobile number and contact for the payroll department as well.

I will be applying for a review explaining this situation and hope fo rthe best.

Agree with Vora.

The SAB is same as the freedom of information department. They say they can take upto 20 or more days to provide with information.

@rajeevanand, @vora, @sandesh_in Thanks for your reply.

The decision is not yet taken on my application, neither I know the status of my application other than “Application is still under considerationâ€

siqbal,

i dont think they can issue you the information at this time. It seems like they dont have anything conclusive with them , otherwise they would have decided something on ur case.

Hi Rajeev,
I just saw your post.very sorry that your application got rejected first time.

What is the status now? Hopefully your review request will get u good results.

Rajeev can u plz clear my doubt.
Where had u mentioned the contact detials of your employer? were the contact details given by you in cover letter or these were there in one of the letter from employer?
I have my payslips stamped and signed and another letter from employer for my gross earnings on company letterhead but it doesnt have specific contact details.
So shall I mention the contact details myself in the cover letter.
Please suggest.

Hi

Even if the letterhead contains the contact information, provide it in the covering letter where you describe your income. Try and provide contact details for your accounts/payroll dept as well. That will save you some trouble.

Good luck
