My experience - After EC

Post by ns7 » Mon May 21, 2007 7:18 am

Hi,
I got EC in Feb but my travel to UK was delayed till May. I reached London on 19th. Here is my experience regarding events after EC:
(1) At Immigration counter in New Delhi I was not asked anything except the destination and purpose (to be on safe side I took my PAN Card and last few years returns copy along with my last company's estimated tax sheet for the last financial year). Though Jet airways staff while issuing boarding passed asked me about my previous visits, purpose of current visit and the place where I would be residing ;)
(2) I didn't find Jet airways very comfortable from sitting perspective but food was good and served thrice ;) during 9 hr journey.
(3) At Hearthrow there was a very-2 long queue from Immigration check. I had to wait for about 1 hour (My suggestion is that as soon as you leave the plance just run towards immigration lounge ASAP).
(4) But after that process was quick. Following was asked:
(a) Is this my first visit to UK on HSMP?
(b) Do I have a job offer?
(c) What is my area of work and how much experience I have?
(5) After that I was sent to Health Check counter. The queue was not that long. When my turn came I was asked whether I had x-ray report. I showed the same (taken in India on 1st of May) and then they asked me to go to some other counter for immigration stamp. So, finally I reached London but now the bigger challange is to find a suitable job ;).
So, please wish me luck.
Thanks & Regards,
ns7
