Applying for a uk tourist visa without Invitation letter

Post by aneg07 » Tue May 29, 2007 9:46 am

Hi,
i'm applying for a uk tourist visa on my own because i want to spend a few days of holidays in london.
Could i apply on my own without an invitation letter?
Is this letter essential to obtain the visa?

thanks a lot

Chances of rejection are very high..

Why not book a tour via SOTC or similar tour operators and they do all the stuff for you.

If you can fund your own trip to the UK and can prove that you are financially sound there is absolutely no need for a letter of invitation.
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.

I agree. I personally know people who used to get visitor visas to do christmas shopping in the UK.

I know i can dimostrate that i'm financially sound with my personal documentations.
But what about the correct list of supported documents to prove i can afford this journey?
salary slips, bank account, letter from employer are good?
Should i present my properties documentations, too?
Or different kind of documents as, for example, my life insurance policy?
How many salary slips should i present? 6 months? 12 monts? 24 month?

I know.. i'm a little bit confused about documents :D

Thanks again
