Why no Immgration control at Termial 1?

Post by Shace » Thu Sep 19, 2013 11:38 am

I worked in dublin on last 2 wednesdays(11/9/13 & 18/11/13), i travelled in the morning to dublin and returned back to london
on the same day, but i was not stopped at any immgration control at heathrow terminal 1. is this a common prcatice when travelling from dublin?

since i returned on the same day i believe i need not to include this day as absence on my ILR application, also my passort has
landing stamp in dublin, but nothing to say I am back in UK.

I want to know anyone had a similar experience?

Thank you for your quick reply ban. s

very useful information, it says travelling between CTA(republic of ireland, jersey, channel island etc...)
dosent need passsport checks, however visa nationals needs to have visa when entering from other part of CTA....

hence I believe i should go through the immigration control...but its not my fault if no immigration officer to check at termial 1 isnt it?

my worry is this might be an issue at the time of ILR....just to be in the safe side ill be keeping a copy of the tickets and boarding pass.

you'll notice the link also states - The UK does not make routine immigration checks on passenger travel within the CTA - so not much to worry as such.

your one day trips will not count as absences as far as ILR is concerned but keep your boarding pass stubs and any other evidence you may have for the trips.

Ban.s / Manci

Thank you guys for sharing the information....on a separate note my visa issue date is 6th/5/2009(tier1 general)
and if i want to apply 28 days before at a PEO, this will be 10/04/2014 isnt it?

how should i work the dates backwards. does it means my last pay slip, bank documents should
be from 10/04/2014 backwards?

or can I prepare documents starting from 31/03/2014 counting the days backwards but apply on 10/4/2014?

i am bit confused with the dates.
