New SOC code for extension

Post by yemKEM » Tue Oct 01, 2013 2:14 am

Hi guys,

My last SOC code was 2132 with Operations analyst in my last tier 2 general application last year. i earned £28000 (37.5hrs per week) which was higher than the requiremt of 27000 in SOC2000 cop list. Now, the closest job desc is soc code 2139 (Pls help confirm if i am right!) in the revised SOC 2010 list with a min salary of 28,400 (based on 39hrs per week). Do I need an increase in salary to apply for settlement next yr?

thanks in advance

What was code 2132 in iSOC 2000 has been split in SOC 2010 into three codes: 2135, 2136 and 2139.

Only you and your employer can tell which of these fits your job and the employer will have to certify this in writing

If it is code 2139 then the min. salary is £28,400 for a 39 hour week and your salary of £28,000 for a 37.5 hour week is sufficient when pro-rated. The min. salary for a 37.5 hour week would be
37.5/39 * 28400 = £27308

Thanks for your prompt response Manci

Another queston,

In what document will employer have opportunity to certify this SOC code since my original certificate of sponsorship would still be valid and & a new one is probably not required for settlement?

there is no form, they just have to write and you have to submit the letter with your application, see Immigration Rule 245HF(d)(ii)
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/polic ... es/part6a/
a new CoS will not be required if you have valid leave when you apply for ILR.
