UK Tourist Visa Rejected

Post by tejess » Sat Jun 02, 2007 9:25 am

Hi,

My parents applied for UK tourist Visa .It has been rejected for reason not enough funds to support .They have applied through the agent .

They have shown 1.5 Lakh each in their account .My dad is retired

1.Please let me know how much amount they have to show in bank
2.Whether we can reapply once again need to wait for some more time
4.How long they have to wait

What is the next procedure they can take up

Reply as soon as possible.

Thanks,
Tina

Assuming the visas has been granted, where would they have stayed? At your place? Who would have fed them? You? If those assumptions of mine are correct, what evidence was included to show those facts? Details of the accommodation? That you could afford to support them?

1.5 Lakh? Personally I do not have a clue how much that is. (But would welcome knowing!)

thanks,
They would have stayed in Hotel according to what they have submitted in the Visa.

But they will be staying with me ..I dint send any invitaion letter because dont have 6 months bank statement and house is in my name.

In visa application they have shown they dont have anybody in UK.

If they reapply now saying they have somebody here to support they may not get visa once again.

how can they proceed ..by showing more amount in thier account.

I know this from the Indian lads at work! A lakh is 100,000. Presumably Rupees. Indian number notation is odd to Western eyes from what I;ve seen, for examples a lakh is notated as 1,00,000.

Quick trip to www.xe.com makes that 1,800 pounds sterling by my reckoning.

Thanks Wanderer. So if 1.5 lakh is about £2700, well dependent upon how long they said they were going to stay, and knowing the price of hotels in the UK, I am not surprised that the VV applications failed.

tejess, I think you need to put this all down to experience and start all over again. And next time admit where your relatives will be staying and that you will be supporting them while they will be here in the UK.

Tejess, the key question is: If they were to re-apply after a short period of time, what circumstances have changed since their last application? That is the main point the High Commission would want to know.

The amount you normally indicate in the form as funds that will be available to you in the UK is highly considered in relationship to the amount you have in the bank account. So this may also have been a factor in their refusal depending on what amount they had indicated.

One question though is, why did your parents not say they had you in the UK in their initial application? The outcome could have been different, and now they can't say that you are in the UK.

Except circumstances have changed significantly, they may need to wait at least 6 months.
