When can I apply for ILR & British citizenship?

On student visa from 2004
Got married to British citizen in Sept 2011
Got spouse visa in March 2012 (same day service) valid till march 2014

My question is that when can I apply for Ilr and then after that for British citizenship?

For ILR, is it two years after my marriage or completing two years on spouse visa?

For naturalisation, is it three years after spouse visa or will my student visa years will count towards it?

You will qualify to apply for naturalisation immediately after you secure ILR, which will be 3 years lawful residence in the UK, has ILR and married to a British Citizen.

Currently I am on a spouse visa ending in February 2014. I got that back in 2012.
Prior to that, I was on a student visa. I came to the UK back in 2004. I am going to apply for ILR in feb next year. The new rules say that I have to get my Life in the UK test as well as English Test.
Can I not use that English test certificate which I got back in 2012 when I was applying for the spouse visa?

For settlement there will be a B1 English requirement in addition to the LIUK test. I assume you have a degree taught in English? So long as it is comparable to a UK degree you will satisfy the new additional requirement.

You can, if your English Language test was up to B1 standards and has not expired. KOL also required.

Also we are expecting a baby in the next two weeks.
My question is that when I am applying for my SET(M), do I need to apply for our child as well or will he/she be automatically be British by birth because of his/her mother (British citizen)?

A salaried job of 28k pa, you have nothing to worry about, supply the last 3 months wage slips and corresponding bank statements. Don't forget cohabitation proof over the last 2 years.

Hello there,

I have booked an appointment for the 7th of Feb 2014 in Croydon. My wife and our three months old baby has a doctor appointment that day and that's the only day I can take off from work to attend the appointment. I also don't want to take our baby out in the cold to Croydon.
Will a letter from my wife explaining her absence due to the above reason be enough? I will take that letter with me and her passport as well. The GP appointment was taken over the phone so don't have an appointment letter for that.

Appointment @1pm.
Went through security and to first reception 12:30
Documents check and fringes prints @1:09 (took about 20mins)
@2:30 my number was called to go to one of the counter to collect documents where the good news was revealed.
Impressed with their service facilities.
