help with indefinite leave to enter

i have lived in uk from june 2002 till january 2013 legally.there r no gaps in getting visa.i was legal all the time.i left uk after 10 years and 7 months.my question is can i apply for indefinite leave to enter from pakistan or i have to apply for student visa again to apply for ilr.i do want to go back.
