What's happening with royal mail strike?
I don't think there will be a strike as Royal Mail, shares are being sold out at the moment (£750 minimum investment) there will be no point in strike action after being sold.
but isn't that the reason why they want to strike? hope you are right and there is no strike, because they are messy enough without strikes....

July application...

Post by Ririreallydidit » Thu Oct 03, 2013 2:37 pm

Hi guys... Newbie here!! :P

I have been waiting for what seems like years now.. My timeline is as below.

Eligibility criteria: ILR since 2009 (Been here since 2004 age 14)
Method of application: NCS
Date of application: 12th July 2013
Date of receipt by UKBA: 16th July 2013
Date of acknowledgement : 18th July 2013 (Dated 16th July 2013 )
Date of debit of fees: 19 July 2013
Date of approval: -_-
Date of Ceremony: -_-

I have so far emailed them for an update twice now, getting the same "no decision" response. I enquired about my case being assigned to someone and I was told that they do not give out that inflation anymore..so for all I know, my file could be in a dark place somewhere...forgotten :S ... It is encouraging though to see all the success stories!

Have you ever tried to call them?

I think for every 4 new application, 1 July application is processed.

I tried to ring a few weeks back. Got the automated response advising that I should allow 6months processing time.

I guess, I applied the same day, but I don't think that matters; it's just random....

Derivaz,
I see that you applied on the same day as me. But given the working process of HO I would not hold my breath. For me, I knew it would happen, (well, almost sure :)), it was just a matter of time and conveneince when it comes to planning holiday travel and returning Indian passports.

I hope your approval arrives in the mail soon. Thanks for all your posts.

Yes, I did; no, that doesn't make me think I'm going to get my decision now; the HO doesn't follow any logical process; I think they just pick applications randomly....

You are saying that they approved your application because it was a matter of convenience for you, because you have to go on holiday? could you elaborate on that, please?

Sorry Derivaz,
I should have been more explicit in my writing. When I said, "I knew it would happen", I meant that eventually my application would have been approved. It was just that the timing of the approval could sometimes mess up your travel plans.

Hope you dont have to wait too long.

ah, alright, gotcha

It wouldn't mess up my travel plans; I have my passport and ID, so I can travel on either one in Europe, so that's fine for me; I'd just like to know the result; theoretically, there is nothing wrong with mine and it's quite straight forward, but you never know with the HO.....

Hi

Post by arjun_wp » Fri Oct 04, 2013 2:37 pm

Finally I got the approval/invitation letter dated 1st October, I applied on 19th July. Many thanks for the support/guidance. I nearly lost the hope of getting within 6 months timeline.
Best of luck for those who are waiting for the approval/invitation, yours too are coming soon.
