Contacting my local MP has definitely helped!
Congrats katievoroncova, After contacting your MP , how many days it will take?
Hi, I contacted my MP just before 5 months were up as I was worried my app had been lost somewhere... I received a response from the MP within a week stating that he would write to the head of UKBA and enquire.
I called and e-mailed UKBA numerous times, even made an official complaint.
My approval letter was dated 28/09, yet when I called UKBA on the 3rd of October they kept saying that my application is still being looked at. They obviously didn't check the notes! That place is run so badly
- when they say that you will be able to find out about the progress of your app after 6 months - they lie! It's exactly the same standard, robot like reply that you get should you contact them before it has been 6 months.
I strongly believe it is the MP contact that sped things up. So if anyone is still waiting, just get in touch with your MP - they are there to help
My case was so straightforward - yet I will never know why it took so long.
Good luck to those who are still waiting - I am sure you will hear something soon
