Tier 1 dependent surname change

Post by phanidhar6039 » Fri Oct 04, 2013 11:57 am

Hi Guys,

I got recently married and I am applying for surname change of my wife in passport and add my name as spouse for my wife when she comes here. She already have a valid visa for tier 1 dependent on which she have her current surname which will be changed to mine after she arrive here.

So my query is does it effect her stay if i change her surname as of mine in the passport?

Any inputs will be great.

Thanks,
P

Shouldn't be a problem, as long as you get the name changed in her BRP.
You must tell us as soon as you can if:

you change your name (for example, because of marriage or by deed poll);

Thanks for the reply but she got her visa in india and she doent have a BRP card but instead it is stamped on the passport like we initially have it when we first arrive in UK.

Any more information will be helpful.

Thanks,
