2nd extension done? - Please reply

Hi,

I am going for my 2nd extension and wanted to find out what rules will be applied to me. Same rule as applied for my 1st visa grant or new rule after April 2010? as my 1st extension was done in Oct 2011

1st grant: Oct 2008-Oct2011
1st extension: Oct 2011-Oct 2013

Can someone who have done their 2nd extension please reply?

The question is confusing. The rules that were applicable to the first grant itself would be applicable to you.

what you say is correct as per the rules mentioned in the guidelines.. but I have read 2 cases on this forum where new rules were applied. So I wanted to know from all those who have got their 2nd extension with old rules being applied.

yes, one of them has got it resolved so it confirms that old rules do apply but I am just concerned as I am not qualifying with the new rules and if they go with the new rules as in these 2 cases then my application will be rejected and than I will have to go for an apple and that's lot of hassle.

Anyone who applied for 2nd extension and got approved please share ur experience. Where the same rules at the time of ur initial Tier-1 application applied or the new rule post April 2010 ?

whatever rules applicable during the time of your first application apply now, i got my 2nd extension approved yesterday.

For example if you scored 10 points for your age in 2008, you can claim the same now. the same principle applies for your previous earnings and other areas.

I want to go early for extension as I want to apply extension for my new born baby

I got my entry clearance in nov 2008, then the first extension in oct 2011 and the second extension now in oct 2013. Not sure how this information helps.

If you arent travelling outside the country until your next extension then you probably dont need to make an application for leave to remain for your child now. You could include your child as your dependent when you go in for your extension in 2014. If you do want to travel, then you could apply seperately for your child now.

We are seeing instances of people getting 2 years during their extension now. I think its being done in error.
