ILR for Wife? now on WP after being Dependant for 3.5 yrs?

Post by atulblal » Thu Sep 30, 2004 12:05 pm

Hello,
I have my appointment for ILR@croydon based on 4yrs WP on the coming monday so would really appreciate your response.
A couple of issues really,
One: as mentioned in the subject, would i be able to get ILR for my wife as a dependant at the same time as me. She's been a dependant and been working till March this year but recently her employers filed her workpermit. So she's got both stamps on her passport now.

Second: In my own application, i have a 5 month absence where i went to india to oversee a software project. I have got a reference letter from my then Manager giving a history of my work, but how should i word this on my application:
Would this do.. please tell me somthing better...
" I went on a business trip to Mumbai, India to oversee the development of software as part of my project. This was to ensure quality of the product and first time delivery."

Someone earlier advised me to stick to myself alone on the application. Or go the postal route with wife as dependant.
Otherwise, get my own ILR, with only the one issue and then convert wife's VISA to dependant and apply 2 years later.
Can this be done? Any other alternative?

Understand you are busy, but i would really appreciate a quick response.
Thanks
