Hello Ragav,

Even my cousin got the payment reference number it is something like HS2708****.

Have you received your HSMP reference number yet. I dont know why it is taking this long. Generally it should take maximum a day or 2 after the payments has been processed. But this is taking more than that. I don't know why.

Everyone, did anyone applied in June and got the reference number approval, please update.....

Thank you

I have posted my application by Special Delivery to the address provided for courier delivery yeasterday and today i can see on the tracking service that it has been delivered. However, I am worried since i have posted to the courier delivery address they might cause unnecessary delay in processing. Essentially while posting on PObox the postal department said that there should be someone there to sign so i didnt want to take risk with my originals and i sent it to the courier address as at least that should be an official address. Any comments on this (stupid?) move of mine.
And secondly how long does it take to get a ref no?

I haven't come across this situation before roy. but if they accept your application and consider working on that as usual, it shud take around 3-4 days to receive the reference number. This is the present running time, as my cousin and ragav both received it in a week gap......

OK i called up and found that my payment has been processed and i got a pyment ref number. I would be given the original 6 digit HSMP ref no probably on Monday or tuesday.

Application Sent by Special delivery : 05-06-2007
Payment processed : 08-06-2007

And the recorded message said that they were processing HSMP applications dated 24th May.

Hi Raghav,
I have a rather weird query:

I received my P60 for year 2006-07 but there seems to be huge deviation between my final paid salary for March 2007 and the Total for the year quoted in P60. The details are as below:

As Per March 2007 final payslip:
1. Gross Pay: £ 32367.08
2. Taxable Pay: £ 28821.63
3. Total tax: £ 4974.04

As per P60: ---> P60 does not mention Gross Pay which I am claiming, it only mentions Taxable Pay
1. Taxable pay: £ 28821.63
2. Total tax: £ 4974.04
Q: Gross pay has not been mentioned in P60

I can add all the Total Gross Pay for 12 months from April 2006 till March 2007 and it comes out to £ 32367.08.

My questions:
1. Will I be eligible for above £ 32,000 and claim 35 points?
2. I am also planning to submit the UK Bank Statements where my Employer's name is clearly mentioned each month as the creditor. Should this be sufficient?
3. Will the HSMP assesor consider my Taxable pay or Gross Pay? I have made a grid showing the PAYE TAX, Total deduction, Net Pay, Gross Pay alongwith the application.

Thanks for your help,
Mike

Hello Mike,

According to the guidance notes, HSMP assessor always considers Gross Income only. As long as you can prove that you have earned 32000+ salary by showing all the payslips and explain him that the P60 is showing only the taxable income and also you can add up the bank statements showing the salary credited into account and if possible try to get a letter from the employer mentioning the total earnings for the claiming period. This shud suffice. But dont worry if u cant make it the employers letter.

Good luck. Bye

Guidance notes clearly explains this my friend. It shouldn't be a PO Box address.

Is your case anywhere related to limited company/self employed income. Please confirm.. Because I found that few of the candidates who compiled the previous income by using limited company, the amount of time for final decision is taking very long.

I dont know whats the reason. Thats the reason I am just asking if you are coming out of that criteria and so you received ur decision quick????

Please reply

Hi,

My cousin, who applied for HSMP on 30th May called up HSMP team today, they said the case worker has made the decision on 7th June, but it is still waiting for the final decision to be signed by 2 other people (managers or someone). So they didnt tell the decision as the caseworkers was not the final decision and it might change in the other 2 stages.

Did anyone come accross this situation before and please let me know, how long will it take for him to receive the result. He also sent the urgent treatment as there is some job offer awaiting.
Thanks in advance

I just called the Home Office and heard that my case was approved. :D

Here is the detail:

- Application mailed out by Special Delivery on 29 May 07
- Never be able the track the package on Royal Mail
- Fee taken from credit card, as shown by online cc statement on 4 June 07
- Never received a reference number
- Called the Home Office custom service this morning (12 June 07): case approved and obtained a tracking number for the returning Recorded mail

My application details:

- 50 points PhD (degree certificate, transcript and NARIC letter)
- 35 points past earning (P60 + 12 pay slips)
- 5 points UK experience
- IELTS results

Notes:

- Although I have only 2.5 months left on my current visa, I intentionally delayed my application so that I can accumulate a full tax-year's document (p60 and payslips covering the same period). I think this makes my application material much cleaner and very straight forward to handle by the case worker.
- My degree was from a top 20 American university. But I got a letter from NARIC anyway, again, making things easier for the case worker.
